Description

Equal Earth Projection – Physical & Political World Map

The Equal Earth World Map uses an equal-area map projection designed to represent our planet more fairly. Created in 2018 by Bojan Šavrič, Tom Patterson and Bernhard Jenny, the Equal Earth projection preserves the true proportions of continents and land areas. It offers a reliable alternative to traditional world maps, particularly those based on the Mercator projection.

A Fairer Representation of the Continents

Thanks to the Equal Earth projection, continents are shown in their correct proportions.

As a result, Africa, South America and Indonesia appear at their true relative sizes. This provides a more balanced representation of the world, closer to geographical reality.

A Harmonious Design with Scientific Accuracy

The Equal Earth projection stands out for its rounded, balanced design. Visually reminiscent of the Robinson projection, it offers greater scientific accuracy when representing land areas.

It is therefore an excellent balance between aesthetic appeal and cartographic accuracy.

The 4 Available Versions

1 – Physical: Features physical geographical details (terrain, mountains, rivers, etc.), along with the capitals and major cities of each country.

2 – Physical & Political: Combines a detailed physical map with political information, including countries, borders and capital cities.

3 – Political: Focuses on political information (countries, borders and capital cities), while also showing the main mountain ranges.

4 – Political & Oceans: Displays political information, land topography and underwater relief, providing a comprehensive view of the continents and oceans.

Equal Earth World Map – Flexible Wall Poster

These materials are more durable than standard poster paper and offer a high-quality matt finish, without unwanted glare. They are also washable, making them easy to maintain and helping to ensure long-lasting use.
