ORIGINAL MAP may amend these Terms from time to time; amendments take effect when published on the Site and apply to future orders only.
3. Definitions
- “Order” means the customer’s order for one or more products placed via the Site or through Customer Service.
- “Product(s)” means the items offered for sale on the Site.
- “Customer” / “you” means the individual consumer placing an Order for personal use.
- “We / us / our” means ORIGINAL MAP.
4. Product information and images
Product images on the Site are for illustrative purposes only. Slight variations in colour, scale or finish (due to photographic reproduction or screen settings) do not constitute a defect. We take reasonable care to describe Products accurately, but cannot guarantee that product descriptions or colours are fully precise on every device.
5. Ordering & contract formation
5.1. Items may be added to your shopping cart and you may amend your cart at any time prior to confirmation.
5.2. By clicking the “Confirm order” button you make a binding offer to purchase the products in your cart on these Terms.
5.3. We will acknowledge receipt of your Order by email (order confirmation). A binding contract is formed when we send a separate order acceptance or dispatch confirmation.
5.4. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel Orders in cases of suspected fraud, pricing error or incomplete/incorrect customer details.
You may also place Orders by contacting Customer Service: +33 9 53 57 63 71.
6. Price & payment
6.1. Prices on the Site are shown in euro (€) and include VAT where applicable. Shipping and handling fees, where applicable, will be added and shown at checkout.
6.2. The price applicable to your Order is the price shown in the order summary at the time you confirm your Order.
6.3. Payment must be received before dispatch. We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout (for example: card payments processed via Stripe; PayPal). Payment is processed via secure third-party providers and we do not store your full payment card details.
7. Delivery & risk
7.1. Delivery will be made to the address you give when placing the Order. It is your responsibility to provide a correct and complete delivery address.
7.2. We aim to deliver within 30 working days from confirmation of Order unless a different time is stated at checkout. If delivery will be delayed materially we will contact you with an updated delivery timeframe.
7.3. Risk of loss or damage passes to you on delivery. For this reason, you should inspect the package upon arrival. If packaging is visibly damaged, please refuse delivery or sign “received with reservations” and contact us immediately.
7.4. If you fail to accept delivery and do not advise us, we may charge reasonable storage and re-delivery costs.
8. Delivery problems & investigations
If you have not received your Order within seven (7) days of the expected delivery date, please contact us so we can open an investigation with the carrier. Investigation times vary by carrier (typically between 1 and 3 weeks). If an item is found and re-delivered we will notify you. While an investigation is ongoing, refunds are not usually issued unless we agree otherwise.
Events of force majeure (such as strikes, epidemics, natural disasters, war, import restrictions, fire or flood) that prevent timely delivery are outside our control and may lead to extended delivery times without liability for compensation.
9. Cancellation / Returns (Consumer right to cancel)
Right to cancel / cooling-off (UK consumers)
If you are a consumer in the UK, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days starting from the day after you (or a third party nominated by you) receives the goods.
To exercise the right to cancel you must inform us (ORIGINAL MAP, 20 B Avenue Lacassagne, 69003 Lyon, France; contact@originalmap.co.uk
) by an unequivocal statement (for example by email). You may use the model cancellation form included below, but it is not obligatory.
Consequences of cancellation
If you cancel, we will reimburse all payments received from you for the cancelled items (excluding additional costs for non-standard delivery chosen by you) without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to cancel. We will use the same payment method used by you for the initial transaction unless you expressly agree otherwise.
Return of goods
You must return the goods without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which you notify us of the cancellation. You bear the direct costs of returning the goods unless otherwise agreed.
Exclusions
The right of cancellation does not apply to goods made to your specifications, personalised items or clearly personalised prints. Please check the product description at the point of sale to see whether it is a bespoke item (in which case the right to cancel is excluded).
10. Faulty items, warranty & returns
10.1. If a product is faulty or misdescribed please notify Customer Service immediately (contact@originalmap.co.uk
). We will require reasonable evidence (photos, description) to assess the issue.
10.2. Statutory rights: nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer (including the statutory guarantee against faulty or misdescribed goods). In the UK consumers normally have a 30-day short-term right to return faulty goods for a refund, and longer remedies depending on the nature of the fault.
10.3. Our liability for loss or damage caused by us is limited to direct losses reasonably foreseeable at the time of contracting and shall in any event be limited to the value of the Order except in cases of death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or where stronger liability applies as a matter of law.
11. Personal data / privacy
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (link on the Site). By placing an Order you consent to our processing of your personal data for the purposes of order fulfilment, customer service and, with your consent, marketing. For information about data we collect, retention periods and your rights please consult our Privacy Policy or contact us at contact@originalmap.co.uk
. We are also registered with the French data protection authority (CNIL) under number 2103697.

13. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content of third-party sites and linking does not imply endorsement.
14. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales for UK consumers. For consumers who are located outside the UK, mandatory consumer protection rules of their country of habitual residence may apply. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (for UK consumers), except where mandatory laws of your country provide otherwise.
Note: Because ORIGINAL MAP is incorporated in France, certain provisions (such as jurisdiction and applicable law) may be subject to specific legal rules; please obtain legal advice if required.
